Once you've recorded a few things, you need to share them.

If it's all original music, no cover songs or copyrighted music, I'd recommend putting it on a site like www.soundclick.com. Their basic site is free and you can upload unlimited mp3's at 128k on their site.

You can hear what my home recordings sound like by using the player at the bottom of the page. All songs were home recorded.

You have the option to use a Creative Commons license and let everyone download your music for free, yet still be protected in case you want to sell your stuff commercially. This is my option. I enjoy sharing my music with whomever thinks it's good. My stuff has been downloaded and played by people the world over. I enjoy knowing that someone likes my stuff enough to play it.

Another good site to place your music is with http://music.podshow.com/. I've only had my music up on that site for a couple of months but it has been played on podcasts originating as far away as Finland.

There are other sites like myspace.com that let you upload your original music, but the above are my favorites.

Of course, you can always make your own CDs or just email your mp3's to friends.
